TITLE : Design and Implementation of a DSM and Portable Parallel Library. GUIDE : Dr.R. Govindarajan Assistant Professor SuperComputer Education and Research Center Indian Institute of Science Bangalore,INDIA. PLATFORM/OS : IBM AIX on IBM-SP2 SuperComputer ABSTRACT : * This project was done during the Semester break after my Junior year. * The project was part of the Shared University Research Programme funded jointly by IBM and TataIBM. * It involved development of an efficient Distributed Shared Memory and a Portable Parallel Library (PAL) to be run on it. * The routines for PAL were written in C using IBM's MPL( Message Passing Library) * The PAL routines were tested succesfully on a 32-node IBM-SP2. They are currently being ported and tested on a 512-node Cray. 2. TITLE : GUIDE : Dr. R.B.Mishra, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engg., IT-BHU. PLATFORM : HP-UX, LINUX ABSTRACT : * This is my final year project and is in progress. * It involves implementation of Traditional Algorithms in Computational Geometry in a Parallel and Distributed Environment. * Some algorithms such as All pairs shortest paths, Convex hull problem have already been implemented on the HP 9000 Mainframe. * Work is on to parallelize other sequential algorithms. 3. TITLE : Employee Record Service using Distributed Component Technology on thin Clients GUIDE : David D'Lima Senior Consultant, Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai. PLATFORM : Pentium PC. ABSTRACT : * This Project was done by me during the Summer of 1997. * It involved constructoin of an Employee Record Service using DCOM Technology. * Java was used as front end and Visual C++ as Control layer. * The C++ modules took their input data the Java modules, processed it and gave it back to them for display. OTHER PROJECTS: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4.Design and Implementation of a Web based scripting language as a part of Compiler Design Course. * Part of the course on programming languages and Compiler Design * This language can be used for constructing active Web pages with features similar to JavaScript anbd VBScript. * Special functions and features to ease programming overhead. * UNIX utilities like lex and yacc were used for constructing lexical analyzer and parser. 5. An iterative technique for playing games * Project done in my Junior year * Proposed an optimised technique to search the solution space of a game tree as against the conventional recursive technique used for the purpose * Implemented the technique for a n*m grid game. * Presented at the Annual Institute Technical Festival in Mar. 1998 and won the 2nd prize. 6. Reliability of n*m-Mesh topology * Project done as part of the course on algorithm design and analysis. * A n*m Mesh has nodes and links with reliability associated with them. * The system works if the Net reliability is greater than a threshold. * Algorithm was implemented to study the variance of reliability of such a system with changes in reliabiity of its nodes and links I will be pleased to furnish further details. ________________________________________________________________________________
